Residency Den Helder,
During my Residency in Den Helder from 16 October - 1 January, I worked with to document the colors of the sunset and sundown. I studied the different temperaments, tones and movements in the sky and collect it in form of pictures.
For this project I found it interesting to take an artist like Paul Klee as example and guidance.
Paul Klee was one of the few artists who created his own manner to connect color to music. Via him I was able to understand more and be aware of the temperament, tones and rhythm in the sky, also while I was painting other subjects than a landscape. The time at the Resident in Den Helder resulted in a series of work that started out from one source, the sky. The final result became very different in the outcome. With help of a verity of mediums I tried to find the ‘true colors’ and worked with different expressions within descriptive paintings next to abstract ones. This lead to that I found both ways of making express similar feelings. There was a formality in the work but also a touch of romance that took the work further.
'
Maybe your memory stores the truest color and the mediums you use never catch the real ones'

Konsthall 1.0,
was in the beginning an old guard house with the function to open and close the bridge called 'Slottsbron'. Now days it has a totally different function. Since not long ago Sara Klaesson started an art project in the small house and named it: Konsthall 1.0.
Sara invite artist's who are open to work with experimental ideas. Where research and individuality goes along with the process of making art for the specific space that Konsthall 1.0 offers.
It's not possible to enter Konsthall 1.0 but you can see the ongoing project from outside through the windows, and it's open 24 hours.
I was invited to make an installation. My idea was to make something that connected my roots in Sweden with something I though was very dutch and it had to fit into a space with only windows and hardly any white walls. My idea to use old furniture's from my grandmothers house came from that I used to study in Jönköping in 1995 - 1997 at the esthetical program and lived only 40 km from Jönköping where the memories and stories from my youth once took form. I used to play in my grandmothers house and the feeling of old things have always stayed in my mind and hart. It is still beeing reflected in my work today. The objects from my grandmothers house stand for the past and as contrast I used the abstract forms, the 'shutters' to mirroring my view of Holland where I live now.
From the outside you could only see the windows with the painted patterns referring to the dutch traditional shutters. The shutters in the third window had an small opening and you could have a glimpse of what was inside the house. During the night two old lamps went on and a warm feeling arose like the house had a small living room and the light was forgotten and left on for the night.
The exhibition took place together with a festival called: Popsoaré.

Ribbaskolan,
The Commission for the school in Sweden was made through Culture Jönköpings Komun. the specific place and building was something new for me to work with and I wanted to make a dialog between my work and the building as well as the students, the light, other colours and forms around the work. The choice of colour was based on the four seasons: winter / spring / summer and autumn like the different faces of a school year. Hanging object | Milk white Acrylaat plate painted with acrylic and cast in Epoxy | The Smaller work | Canvas on wood | Acrylic | Epoxy
